Ethics & Usage Statement

Thank you for contributing your dream report to this project. Before you begin, please review the following information carefully:Purpose: This hotline (and the accompanying survey) collects dream reports from Akron community members for an art project. The project explores and shares common themes and imagery from our collective dream experiences, strictly for artistic and community engagement purposes, not for academic research.Anonymity and Confidentiality: Your identity will remain completely anonymous unless you explicitly choose to share your name or identifying information. Even if you provide your name, your identity will never be publicly disclosed or linked directly to your dream content.Data Storage and Security: All voicemail recordings and transcriptions (as well as survey responses) will be securely stored, accessible only to the project organizer. Data will be stored on password-protected devices and secure, cloud-based services.Voluntary Participation: Your participation is entirely voluntary, and you may choose to discontinue participation or withdraw your contribution at any time by contacting the project organizer.Usage of Data: Dream reports will be analyzed and anonymized before inclusion in any public presentations, publications, or other public sharing of results. Individual dream details will be summarized or quoted anonymously to ensure participant confidentiality.By leaving a voicemail message or submitting the survey form, you consent to your dream report being used in the manner described above.Thank you for participating and contributing your dream experience to this community project.

About the Akron Dream Hotline

The Akron Dream Hotline is a community art project overseen by filmmaker and dream researcher Saelyx Finna. The Hotline was inspired by the question: "What do Akronites dream about?" By collecting and analyzing dream reports, Saelyx hopes to discern any trends, patterns, or notable aspects of the dreams of Akron residents. Findings based on anonymized data will be shared in a public event at the end of the project. Saelyx is also developing a film about dreaming and the future stakes for our minds at night.
